Aspiring to be an ACCA (UK)? Here is a smarter route through CMA (US).

IMA’s CMA (Certified Management Accountant) credential is an advanced professional certification that delivers tangible value. Earning CMA(US) demonstrates your professional expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics – skills that are in demand by top MNCs around the world. To be a CMA (US) one needs to write 2 exams which can be completed within a time span of 6 months to 1 year. 

As per a strategic partnership between IMA (US) and ACCA (UK), a qualified CMA will get 50% paper exemption if he wishes to appear for ACCA exam, which means, he needs to write only 7 out of 14 papers of ACCA (qualifying other eligibility criteria of ACCA).

On the other hand, although a fully certified ACCA member is recognized as having met the education requirement for entrance to CMA program, he must write and pass both parts of CMA to obtain the CMA (US) credential.
